Amsterdam a city with a “town” feeling.  Beautiful, charming, friendly and INTOXICATING!

I arrived in Amsterdam on December 30 2009 with my dear, dear friend Amelia. Who, managed to look chic even though her luggage had been lost by KLM. It helped that she had a amazing Balenciaga coat to pull it all together.  She finally had to go shopping as her luggage never arrived. Poor thing, she only found an amazing cashmere long wrap sweater and silk leopard print blouse from Dries Van Noten, gorgeous black Balenciaga leggings and a  knit dress that you can wear two ways and it was all on sale.  It’s sad really. What a way to start a new decade!

New Years Eve we walked around the city starting at midnight amazed that the entire city had fireworks.  It was a sight to behold! We danced till early morning at Marcanti.  Slept, recovered ( at the wonderful and charming Pulitzer Hotel) and ate again at what became our favorite Amsterdam restaurant  Rankang. Other places we visited shall remain nameless to protect the innocent. Oh and  I did manage to go to yoga at Bikram Yoga Amsterdam.  Not sure how I got there but I was there a few times, I know because I saw myself in the mirror, even went early in the morning on my birthday before leaving to the airport on my way to Berlin.

Ah Berlin!  Wow.  More on that later.

It’s nice to see people take an interest in my home country. Very nice pictures indeed.
